When you search ‘bodyweight training’ in google or on YouTube, you’ll find thousands of hits that are all roughly the same thing…
‘7 minute ab blaster’
‘quick 10 minute leg burner’
All of which are usually some mix & match of jumping jacks, mountain climbers and half squats done in a 30 second on, 30 second off format.
And then when you go to search ‘purposeful training for running’ you’ll either find a complex marathon training program OR something like “5km Monday, 6km Tuesday, 7km Wednesday..”
We believe that YOU deserve better. That you deserve something progressive, purposeful yet fun and interesting.
That’s what we’ve created here; a blend of bodyweight training and structured running to keep you progressing while on holiday or while taking a break from structured gym training.
This 4 week program has you training 6 days a week which is split up into 3 days of bodyweight conditioning/strength and 3 days of running. Each session is meant to be completed in 20 – 30 minutes, which is great for those with a busy holiday schedule.
See below for the structure:
MONDAY: Full Body Body Weight
TUESDAY: Tempo Running
WEDNESDAY: Upper Body Body Weight
THURSDAY: Running Intervals
FRIDAY: Posterior Chain Strength
SATURDAY: Longer Run
Throughout this program we have included plenty of resilience and balance work to keep the body in great condition and help prevent injuries.
This mix of body weight training and running is completely original and you’ll feel a huge sense of achievement after you get through your first week!
